Kip's Bluebird Babies Hatched!!!

This is so-o-o-o exciting. I only see four chicks here.
This is blurry, but maybe there are five!!!

My first picture of all five -- May 9!May 13, 3:35 feedmecam.com/birdhouse/May 14 http://feedmecam.com/birdhouseMay 19, 2007 3:30 pm EDT Kip's birdhouse
The calendar says this might be the day they fledge. They have been so active and they have certainly been testing their wings. I'll miss them, but wish them well.
I sure was wrong about the date. Two left the nest while I was having a cup of tea with a neighbor. May 23, 1:00 pm

Three rose breasted grosbeaks... and soon after 4!

and an American goldfinch

and then there were four, plus the goldfinch and a red bellied woodpecker!
Spare me! I must get back to work and stop watching the grosbeaks multiply!Looks like one female grosbeak on the left.

Colorful Birds

Kip's bluebird has laid 5 eggs. But his feeder still attracts colorful birds. I was thrilled to see a rose breasted grosbeak with the ever present goldfinch.

Just seconds after I captured this picture, an indigo bunting appeared (but maybe it is a blue grosbeak?).

What is it??

Tom Striker confirmed my thought that ths black bird on the fence is a brown-headed cowbird. Not the bird you'd like to see.

Finally Something Besides a Goldfinch!!!

On a stormy March day, a song sparrow appeared at the feeder. I am almost tired of seeing all those goldfinches!

Snow in the Mountains Late February

Phil is at the cabin (maybe he will take some pictures at our feeder! But Kip's goldfinches will have to do to show the snow for today.

February Birds

Looks like Kip got a feeder to try to keep the squirrel and raccoon at bay. Hm-m-m

But the American goldfinches are happy!
